Email receipts and invoices to Dext from a Mac
Dext gives you an email address for receipts and invoices. You can send files to it from your Mac. AutoMailSender does that for you: drop a file, or save it into a folder.

This part comes from Dext, not from us. Read Dext's help article on submitting documents by email. It tells you where to find your Extract by Email addresses.
According to Dext's help article:
- Each user and account has its own addresses, separate for Costs and for Sales documents.
- A Single address treats each file as one document, even if it has several pages. You can attach multiple files to one email.
- A Multiple address turns every page into a separate item. PDFs sent there can be up to 200 pages.
- Accepted files: JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, PDF, DOC, DOCX, ODT, RTF, and ZIP files containing images.
- Dext can't extract password-protected attachments or documents from hyperlinks.
- Items usually appear within 30 minutes.
Send receipts from a Mac with AutoMailSender
- Connect your email once. Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, Yahoo, or any custom SMTP server.
- Add your Dext address as a recipient. Copy it in Dext under Profile > User settings. Give it a name, like "Dext costs".
- Drop a receipt onto the app. It is emailed straight away. No compose window.
Or let a folder do it
Link a watched folder, say ~/Receipts, to that recipient. Save or scan a receipt into it and AutoMailSender emails it on its own. It retries if your provider hiccups and shows a notification when each send lands.
Got a scanner that puts a stack of receipts into one PDF? Link a second folder to your Multiple address. Multiple folders can route to different addresses at the same time. The setup is the same one described in auto-email files from a folder.
- A password-protected PDF. Dext's help article says it can't extract those.
- Excel files are not on Dext's list of accepted types.
- A link to a document instead of the file. AutoMailSender attaches the file itself, so this only matters if you forward mails by hand.
- It does not read your receipts and it does not talk to Dext. It only sends the email.

How do I email receipts to Dext from a Mac?
Copy your Extract by Email address in Dext, under Profile > User settings. Add it as a recipient in AutoMailSender. Then drop a receipt onto the app, or save it into a watched folder linked to that address.
Should I use the Single or the Multiple Dext address?
According to Dext's help article, a Single address turns each file into one item, even a file with several pages. A Multiple address turns every page into its own item. Use Multiple for a scanned PDF with one receipt per page.
What file types does Dext accept by email?

Does AutoMailSender connect to Dext?
